Pride of America launched in 2005 and is of the unique Norwegian Cruise Lines Project America Class of ships. The unique thing about the vessel is that her crew and officers are from America or US citizens. One main plus for this ship is that it has U.S. registration and doesn't have to embark or disembark outside the USA. (The Passenger Services Act orders foreign-flagged cruise vessels to go to a port when leaving or returning to US waters). Norwegian Sun is the second built of the Sky Class vessels and is the sister ship to Norwegian Sky. Norwegian Sun was the first NCL cruise ship planned definitely for Freestyle Cruising (eat at any place and time, dressed in what you like).
